In February 2026, I invited Nataliia Kulya from Kalush to present her powerful and deeply emotional portrait series of families who have lost a loved one during the war. The 52 original portraits are exhibited at the City Museum of Kalush, where I first encountered them during my visit to Ukraine as a volunteer with MoveUkraine. I later printed a selection of these works in Switzerland, and together we traveled to present them to Swiss audiences in Uster, Zurich, Bern, Münster, and at the Parliament Building in Bern. The presentations aimed to convey both the profound suffering caused by loss and the enduring resilience to resist..

The tour educated the audience about the reasons for the strong dedication and engagment of Ukrainians to defend their freedom and souverignty and Nataliia had a few calm nights and interesting sightseeings.

Bringing the photos into the Bundeashaus through the security was easier than anticipated…..
