There are over 20’000 temples in Bali. This temple festival in Pura Dulu Suwi, in Sidemen, feels like stepping into a living painting. Colorful people dressed in bright sarongs and golden accessories fill the temple grounds. The air smells of incense and fresh flowers offered to the gods. Graceful dances unfold slowly, with precise hand movements and expressive eyes. Each dancer tells an ancient story through elegant gestures and posture. Intriguing gamelan music echoes through the courtyard with shimmering metallic tones. According to the «Pawukon» calender, the ceremonies are repeated every 210 days resembling the cycle of paddy harvests.
